IR Centers at Chesapeake Urology Associates is a multidisciplinary private practice endovascular lab *Opening February 2025 in Silver Spring, MD*. This will be Chesapeake Urology's 2nd IR Center in MD with the first located in Towson. _For those candidates looking to start before February, an opportunity is available to begin working in the Towson office in November before transitioning to the new center in Silver Spring. _We are leading minimally invasive procedures across the U.S. by providing interventional radiology services in an outpatient setting.

The following information aims to provide potential candidates with a better understanding of the requirements for this role.

As a Scrub Tech, you will assist in preparing patients and procedure rooms for surgeries, ensuring all necessary supplies and equipment are ready. You will maintain a sterile environment, assist physicians during procedures by passing instruments, and help with patient positioning and transfers.

Responsibilities:
* Prepares patients and procedure rooms for radiology procedures
* Reviews patient orders to determine necessary materials and sets up/cleans procedure rooms
* Assists with patient prep, transfers, and positioning
* Inputs patient data into the C-Arm and assists physicians during interventional procedures, maintaining sterile technique
* Complies with HIPAA, draws up and labels IV medications, and processes/archives x-ray images
* Manages equipment maintenance, supply inventory, and hazardous waste disposal
* May serve as Radiation Safety Officer and assist with accreditation surveys
* Ensures effective communication with physicians
* Assists with patient billing, verifying procedure charges, CPT, and ICD9 codes

Skills:
* Proven working experience as a surgical technologist
* Proficient in maintaining a sterile field
* Experienced in scrubbing in for surgical procedures
* Knowledge of HIPAA and other healthcare regulations
* Working knowledge of interventional equipment

Qualifications:
* High school diploma (Required)
* Valid BLS Certification (Required)
* Surgical technologist experience: 2 year (Required)
* ARRT // CST Certification (Preferred)

Working conditions:

Employees may be exposed to infectious diseases. Must lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds and assist in patient transfers up to 400 pounds. Standing in a protective apron for 60-90 minutes is required. Reasonable accommodations for disabilities are available.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $32.00 - $34.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
