Senior Mammography Technologist at Swedish Health Services summary: The Senior Mammography Technologist performs specialized radiological procedures to diagnose and treat breast disease, producing high-quality mammographic images in outpatient settings. The role includes conducting quality control activities in compliance with federal standards and may involve additional diagnostic radiology or bone densitometry tasks. The position requires formal radiologic technology training and certifications, along with experience in mammography, within a patient-focused healthcare organization. Description This position is required to perform a variety of radiological technical procedures specific to the diagnosis and treatment of breast disease in a high volume outpatient setting, either fixed or mobile. Responsible for producing high quality radiographic images while interacting with all patients in a caring and comforting manner. Responsible for performing required quality control activities as mandated by the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) and the FDA either as designated Quality Control technologist as under their direction. Dependent on location, may be required to utilize general radiography skills to perform diagnostic radiology exams, perform bone densitometry (DEXA) or perform breast related special procedures in conjunction with physician staff.
