Surgical First Assistant Location: Clinton, MD Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,505 per week Shift Information: Days - 4 days x 10 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/9/2026 About the Position Job Title: Certified Surgical First Assistant Profession: Surgical Services Specialty: OR Tech First Assist Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Valid state license required Certifications: BLS, NBSTSA Must-Have: - 2 years of experience required - Travel experience required - Call required - 1-2 weekends (Saturday & Sunday) - Holiday coverage as needed Description: The Certified Surgical First Assistant will provide assistance in the operating room. Candidates must have experience in various surgical procedures, including abdominal surgeries, orthopedic, and urologic procedures. Ability to work as part of a surgical team and provide support to the surgical staff is essential. Knowledge of charting systems is required, specifically Cerner. Experience in community hospital settings is preferred. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in surgical techniques and equipment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are necessary for effective collaboration with healthcare professionals. The role may involve working with diverse patient age groups, including adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. Flexibility and readiness to adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced environment are important. Candidate must be prepared to work as scheduled, including weekends and holidays as needed.
