Registered Nurse (RN) | Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Location: Washington, DC Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,451 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/23/2026 About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified NICU RN in Washington, Washington DC, 20037! Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 3 years of NICU experience required License: Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse Certifications: STABLE, NRP, BLS required Must-Have: Must live 50 miles away from the facility. Must be a Level III NICU nurse capable of handling vents, oscillators, pressors, and micro preemies. Description: Neonates are primarily admitted from labor and delivery. The NICU patient population ranges from as early as 23 weeks gestation to 4 months. The NICU responds to neonatal emergencies by providing assessment and immediate care to newborns post-delivery needing closer observation. Nurses attend all C-sections and high-risk deliveries. Conditions treated on the unit may include, but are not limited to, extreme prematurity, respiratory distress syndrome, sepsis, hypoglycemia, congenital anomalies, seizures, and meconium aspiration syndrome. Services provided include noninvasive nasal CPAP, mechanical ventilation, including High Frequency Oscillation and nitric oxide inhalation therapy. Nurses assist in performing bedside procedures that include peripheral IV insertion, septic workups, intubations, percutaneous catheter insertions, parenteral therapy, blood and blood product administration, bronchopulmonary hygiene, medication administration, and monitoring of vital signs. Parents are provided with necessary teaching and support. Most diagnostic services are provided at the bedside.
