Job Description Job Description Position Summary The Licensed
Professional Counselor (LPC) provides direct clinical counseling
and therapeutic services to children, adolescents, and families
receiving services under the Fairfax–Falls Church Children’s
Services Act (CSA). Services are delivered in community-based
settings including client homes, schools, and other approved
community locations. The LPC practices independently within the
scope of Virginia licensure and in accordance with CSA practice
standards, trauma-informed principles, and evidence-based models.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities Clinical Service Delivery
-Provide individual, family, and group counseling services to
children and families with emotional, behavioral, and mental health
needs. -Conduct comprehensive psychosocial and clinical assessments
to inform individualized service planning. -Develop, implement, and
update treatment plans aligned with CSA Individualized Family
Service Plans (IFSPs), IEPs (when applicable), and court or agency
referrals. -Deliver trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and
evidence-based interventions (e.g., CBT, TF-CBT, MI, DBT-informed
approaches). -Provide crisis intervention and stabilization
services as required. Documentation & Compliance -Maintain timely,
accurate, and compliant clinical documentation including
assessments, progress notes, treatment plans, discharge summaries,
and required CSA reports. -Submit all required reports within CSA
timelines and in accordance with Fairfax–Falls Church CSA reporting
requirements. -Participate in utilization reviews, audits, and
quality assurance activities as requested. Collaboration &
Coordination -Collaborate with CSA case managers, schools, courts,
family resource teams, and other involved providers. -Participate
in team-based planning meetings, family partnership meetings, and
multidisciplinary reviews. -Communicate clinical progress,
concerns, and recommendations to stakeholders while maintaining
confidentiality. Professional & Ethical Practice -Adhere to all
Virginia licensure laws, ethical standards, and CSA System of Care
Practice Standards. -Maintain professional liability coverage as
required by contract. -Participate in supervision, peer
consultation, and continuing education activities. Required
Qualifications -Active, unrestricted Licensed Professional
Counselor (LPC) license issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia.
-Master’s degree in Counseling or a related mental health field
from an accredited institution. -Experience providing counseling
services to children, adolescents, and families. -Knowledge of
trauma-informed care and evidence-based treatment models. -Ability
to work independently in community-based and mobile service
environments. -Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications -Prior experience working within
CSA-funded programs or similar systems of care. -Experience with
in-home, school-based, or community-based service delivery.
-Training or certification in evidence-based practices such as CBT,
TF-CBT, MI, DBT, or PCIT. -Bilingual or multilingual capabilities.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements -Services are delivered in
client homes, schools, and community settings. -Position may
require travel throughout Fairfax County and surrounding areas.
-Ability to sit, stand, walk, and perform routine clinical
